Global Big Day 2019: Po Toi 4 May 2019 - banana boat trip

Today is the annual global eBird event - the Global Big Day, and at the same time we had a boat trip but really unfortunately the wind and wave were strong, only several tern could be seen like Bridled, Black-naped, White-winged Tern....

We stopped awhile on Po Toi, and also nothing interesting there... Many Chinese Sparrowhawk, Brown Shrike, Grey-streaked Flycatcher etc. all expected migrants in May.

Anyway, what an end game of this year boat trip....

Global Big Day 2018 - 5 May 2018

I didn’t need to work today but it’s too tired for us to go birding, so I just simply walked around my ‘home patch’. Nothing special was seen. Not a single flycatcher (I didn’t see any this spring). Many butterflies and squirrels. Best of the day? Must be the adult male Brown Shrike...
