Mai Po 21 May 2020 - Common Cuckoo

A twitch-before-work for the 'atypical' Common Cuckoo. Even though rain was super heavy in the morning, the cuckoo was already there when we arrived.

This bird was rather 'atypical' for me as the barrings are not as fine as the one I saw in mainland China, Also, the iris seemed to be rather dark. If there is no call, I may just identify as an Oriental Cuckoo....

Kowloon Peak and Kowloon Tsai Park 17 May 2020 - no grassbird again

I dipped the Chinese Grassbird again, a species haven't seen for years.

Hot day even in Kowloon Peak, resulted Chinese Francolin and Lesser Coucal, spent a quick walk in Kowloon Tsai Park before lunch, targeted for better Chestnut-tailed Starling but not really good.... (we were soooo mo liu..)

Better to be back home before the heat wave comes at noon.

Nam Chung and Kowloon Tsai Park 16 May 2020 - what a hot day

Temperature was higher than 33 C today, we were only able to see the Chestnut-winged Cuckoo in Nam Chung and some Chestnut-tailed Starling in Kowloon Tsai Park, where the latter was my first time to be there.
