HK Wetland Park 22 Aug 2018 - a better start

As always, much birdy when no camera in hand.

Today was a better start of the season, weather was fine, just still some air pollution and tons of mosquitoes. Rewards are a single Grey Wagtail, a first winter Amur Paradise-flycatcher, an adult male Hainan Blue Flycatcher and a fly-by Besra.

Two 'mobbing events' happened but none related to owls or nightjars (or even raptors). A group of White-eye mobbing a Long-tailed Shrike, and a gang of Masked Laughingthrush (one of the fighting group last time) mobbing a long black snake.

A much better start of the season anyway. 😫

Amur Paradise-flycatcher, by iPhone with Olympus binos. Out-focus but still identifiable. The pale base of mandible indicates a first year bird.
