Po Toi and Southern Water 30 Apr 2020 - better than banana

Not the best day but better than banana in today's boat trip. In sea, some Aleutian Tern, many Common Tern and Little Tern while the adult Brown Booby is the biggest prize of the day. Also an Arctic Skua provided us good view in good light and a Chinese Egret on the way back.

On Po Toi, White's Thrush, Yellow-browed Bunting and Tristram's Bunting were the unexpected late migrant here.

Still missing the pelagics time in Japan and South Africa...

White-winged Tern - both under and upperwing pattern can separate from Black Tern

Arctic Skua - the breast band and strong bill is distinctive to tell from Long-tailed

Arctic Skua - also showing distinct whitish primary base in underwing flash

Arctic Skua - there are 4-8 white shafts on primaries on upperwing, also distinct from Long-tailed
