Mai Po and Tai Po Kau 17 Nov 2020 - ordinary lifer

There was a report of Canvasback in Mai Po a day before but I did not see any convincing photos, and not a candidate when we went to Mai Po. Only an Eastern Imperial Eagle flew over.

Another quick twitch in Tai Po Kau resulted the Chinese Leaf Warbler, finally a lifer since Jan.

Chinese Leaf Warbler - sharing the rump and head pattern, but sometimes can be told from Pallas's Leaf Warbler easily by its much duller plumage

Chinese Leaf Warbler - and of course by the call / song

Fire-breasted Flowerpecker - male

Chinese Leaf Warbler - to me it shows slightly longer and pointed bill than Pallas's

Chinese Leaf Warbler - no dark bars at the base of secondaries

Chinese Leaf Warbler - the crown stripe is less distinct

Chinese Leaf Warbler - rump is also less contrasting
