Ho Man Tin 7 Dec 2019 - Rufous-faced Warbler

Rufous-faced Warbler is a common resident species in SE China and Taiwan, but a rare visitor in HK except this year, which they are reported everywhere, including Ho Man Tin, indicating a good invasive year for them.

We saw our first HK Rufous-faced Warbler in 2017/18 winter so this is not our tick but I still want to get better photos of this cutie, so i made a quick visit to Ho Man Tin before Yum Cha, Bai Shan, iPhone and BBQ today.

Eventually the Rufous-faced Warbler was seen before I left, though doesn’t mean I can take good shots of this fast moving warbler......

Let’s see if I have time to make another visit in the coming week (assuming this is a long-staying bird).

Swinhoe's White-eye - I am trying to find a Warbling in HK even I saw too many in Japan. Warbling should give a much angrier face and duller underparts and upperparts, also lack distinct yellow forehead.

Swinhoe's White-eye - here is a good article for the identification:
